In 1972, Gerald Day bought the property where he would build his Heber Valley grocery store. A year later, in 1973, the building was constructed and Gerald opened up for business with his four teenage sons: Carl, Alan, Byron, and Steven. The brothers were put to work in the original Day’s Market and learned how to work well together as a team. As their father opened other Day’s Market locations in the area, the brothers continued to help with daily operations, learning more about the business, and the communities that supported each location. It was 1997 when their father decided to step down and the four brothers jointly bought the business focusing on a the Provo as well as the Heber City Day’s Market locations, and each of the brothers filled a primary role in the running of the two stores.
